The hotel, which was renovated in 2008, is situated in a 15th century convent, among gardens and fountains which recall a past in which Arabian and Christian influences merged. The convent was built on the orders of the Catholic Monarchs on top of a Nazrid Palace, of which important remains are still conserved, such as the Nazrid Hall. Numerous works of art and exceptional pieces of furniture decorate the cloister and the interior rooms. The dining rooms and the cool summer terrace offer exceptional views of the life of Grenada.
