This historical hotel is housed in a castle palace belonging, in its day, to the Counts of Oropesa and the Lords of Jarandilla. It was built at the end of the 16th Century and offers all the comforts of a quality hotel. This air-conditioned establishment comprises a total of 52 rooms and offers guests a 24-hour reception service, a currency exchange facility, a cafe, a bar, 3 restaurants, a TV lounge and WLAN/Internet access (for an additional fee). The most outstanding exterior features include the turrets, the parade ground and the excellent swimming-pool, with olive and orange trees. Inside, we find halls with fireplaces, and the recently redecorated rooms which provide an intimate and peaceful atmosphere.

In the restaurant, 'migas extremeñas' (fried breadcrumbs), potato soup, partridge stew, lamb loin in honey and La Vera fig compote are some of the dishes which stand out among the varied fare to be found in Extremadura cuisine.

The Parador is located approximately 215 km from Madrid. From Madrid, travel east on Highway 530 (N-V). Exit at Navalmoral de la Mata and, from this town, take road EX-119 to Jarandilla de la Vera.

Estancia muy agradable. Atencion del personal excelente desde la recepción, los camareros, piscina, etc. Nos dieron una habitación para fumadores, error puede que nuestro por no haberlo notificado a Quierohotel. Sugerencia para el parador, pintar habitaciones, la nuestra tenía muchas manchas desagradables, incluso en las llaves de la luz.
