Icelandair Hengill is located in Selfoss, Reykjavik. In one of Iceland's most breathtaking natural settings, near Thingvellir National Park, just 30 minutes from Reykjavik, the hotel is beautifully situated on the slopes of Mt. Hengill. There are great views over Lake Thingvallavatn and the mountains surrounding the lake. This is a new premier hotel that opened in the summer of 2008. Guests are welcomed into a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services. The hotel consists of a total of 22 rooms and features a house bar serving a selection of refreshing and enlivening drinks. There is also a fine dining restaurant offering panoramic views across the remarkable landscape and seating for up to 70 persons. The menu focuses on Icelandic specialities. Each of the hotel rooms come with a shower, telephone, WLAN Internet access, tea and coffee making facilities, ironing set, central heating, TV and radio. The rooms are also fitted with crystal salt lamps and the walls are painted in enlivening colours, giving an energetic feel to match the surrounding area. Guests can make use of the complimentary outdoor hot tubs, sauna and gym. For an additional fee, there is also bicycle hire.
